Praise for Deliverance

Psalm 21

1 O Lord, in Your strength the king will be glad, And in Your salvation how greatly he will rejoice!

2 You have given him his heart’s desire, And You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.

3 For You meet him with the blessings of good things; You set a crown of fine gold on his head.

4 He asked life of You, You gave it to him, Length of days forever and ever.

5 His glory is great through Your salvation, Splendor and majesty You place upon him.

6 For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence.

7 For the king trusts in the Lord,

And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.

8 Your hand will find out all your enemies; Your right hand will find out those who hate you.

9 You will make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger; The Lord will swallow them up in His wrath, And fire will devour them.

10 Their offspring You will destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men.

11 Though they intended evil against You And devised a plot, They will not succeed.

12 For You will make them turn their back; You will aim with Your bowstrings at their faces.

13 Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength; We will sing and praise Your power.

(i Like this one even more than Psalm 20! 😊)

Prayer for Victory over Enemies

Psalm 20

1 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!

2 May He send you help from the sanctuary And support you from Zion!

3 May He remember all your meal offerings And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah.

4 May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill all your counsel!

5 We will sing for joy over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.

May the Lord fulfill all your petitions

6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand.

7 Some boast in chariots and some in horses, But we will boast in the name of the Lord, our God.

8 They have bowed down and fallen, But we have risen and stood upright.

9 Save, O Lord; May the King answer us in the day we call.

Folly and Wickedness of Men

Psalm 14

1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;

There is no one who does good.

2 The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men

To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.

3 They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.

4 Do all the workers of wickedness not know, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon the Lord?

5 There they are in great dread,

For God is with the righteous generation.

6 You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted, But the Lord is his refuge.

7 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!

When the Lord restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.

Psalm 9

A Psalm of Thanksgiving for God’s Justice.

For the choir director; on Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.

1 I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.

2 I will be glad and exult in You;

I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

3 When my enemies turn back,

They stumble and perish before You.

4 For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously.
5 You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.

6 The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished.

7 But the Lord abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment,

He has established His throne for judgment,

8 And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.9 The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble;10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion; Declare among the peoples His deeds.

12 For He who requires blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.13 Be gracious to me, O Lord;See my affliction from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,14 That I may tell of all Your praises,That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.15 The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made; In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught.

16 The Lord has made Himself known; He has executed judgment. In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared. Higgaion Selah.

17 The wicked will return to Sheol, Even all the nations who forget God.

18 For the needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever.19 Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You.20 Put them in fear, O Lord;Let the nations know that they are but men. Selah.

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

Psalm 2

1 Why are the nations in an uproar
And the peoples devising a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

3 “Let us tear their fetters apart

And cast away their cords from us!”

4 He who sits in the heavens laughs,

The Lord scoffs at them.

5 Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying,
6 “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

7 “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,

And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.

9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron,

You shall shatter them like earthenware.’”

Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;

10 Take warning, O judges of the earth.

11 Worship the Lord with reverence

And rejoice with trembling.

12 Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way,

For His wrath may soon be kindled.

How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

Prayer for Help in Trouble

Psalm 13

1 How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day?

How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,

4 And my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken.

5 But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness;

My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

6 I will sing to the Lord,

Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Morning Prayer of Trust in God

Psalm 3

A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son.

1 O Lord, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me.

2 Many are saying of my soul,

“There is no deliverance for him in God.” Selah.

3 But You, O Lord, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

4 I was crying to the Lord with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.

5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.

7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God!

For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.

8 Salvation belongs to the Lord; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.

(Something I will be memorizing every morning inshallah)
